smallmouth bass on the milwaukee river

This was the second trip north on the Milwaukee River and we finally got a decent bass. We went through our share of small bass and pike and had a couple toothy critters even bite through our line. Even though the bass photos are in the video shown below, I felt them worthy of posting the still shots again anyways

The fish measured from the tip of the finger to the bend in the elbow.

  1. Great fish! Even though many of the bass and northern weren't huge I bet they still put up a good fight! I love those scrappy smallies!

  2. That is a huge river small mouth. Looks like a great way too cool off in the middle of summer.

  4. Great healthy river with lots of aquatic food. Tons of baitfish and the crawfish were unreal. Hundreds would scatter with every step in the right areas. It's such a long river with so much too explore. It's exciting!

  5. What stretch of the river are you fishing? (generically, I'm not interested in your spot, just curious where about you're finding that nice scenery)
